2024’s Winter Children’s Theatre Program
The DCS staff facilitated a special Children’s Theatre session at the V.R. Lee Community Building, right next to Penny Playground (in Chehalis, WA) in the Winter of 2024. This program invited students to explore their creativity and build confidence without any prior acting experience. This program ran Monday through Thursday from 4:30-6:30 pm, in which participants had the opportunity to take on various roles, including non-speaking and off-stage positions, ensuring everyone finds their perfect fit. The program culminated in an exciting performance at McFiler's Chehalis Theater on December 12th. The participants performed an original play (written just for this program) called “The Bigfoot Who Stole Christmas”, a parody of the classic “A Grinch Who Stole Christmas”!
Community Partners: James Augustus Smith Charitable Performing Arts Trust, Chehalis Parks and Recreation Department, Bigfoot Treasures, MailPlus Chehalis, and McFiler’s Chehalis Theatre.
